As I designed a boy-themed nursery for Ezekiel. I tried my best to curate a modern and neutral nursery that can easily be customized in a few years to fit his interest down the road. This room is filled with lots of neutrals to easily fit your little boy or girl’s nursery.
If you’re on a budget, this will be the perfect simple, neutral, and modern design for your little boy’s nursery.
Wall & Trim Colors:
Wall color: Vanilla Milkshake by Glidden
Trim & Baseboard color: Pure White by Glidden
This wall color sets off a calming and peaceful vibe in the room. I wanted to cover up the previous yellow color. I had to apply two coats of paint to obtain this look. Then, I went with pure white for the baseboards and trim to give the walls a mild “pop” in color.
For the paintbrushes. I used this (set) from Home Depot. They were very affordable. But, I would probably spend a few more dollars for a nicer set if I had to redo this room. There were a few times bristles would come out and that bugged me! Lol.
Here is the roller I used. No complaints about this one. It worked great! One wall was textured and it applied the paint perfectly over it without any difficulties.
Curtain Treatment:
Okay, so curtains were a BIG deal to me. I feel like whatever curtains you chose to set off the whole vibe for the room. Another thing I wasn’t crazy about is how expensive curtain treatment can be!
So, I searched for curtains that complimented the room but also were not too pricey. I found these olive green blackout curtains from Amazon. The quality of these curtains is affordable and blackout curtains are GREAT! I did order a few before I found a set that I loved.
I knew I definitely wanted a gold curtain rod. This is why I ordered the SAME gold rod I previously had in our girl’s nursery that’s also from Amazon! It’s a subtle classic gold color. Which is exactly what I wanted.
Dresser:
This dresser was given to us and before replacing it for a nicer one. I just flipped it! Olive Green Dresser Flip
Crib:
I am going, to be honest. I bought this crib 3+ years ago from Wal+Mart and searched so hard for the link. But, I was unable to find it. I did link up a similar crib that’s from Wal+Mart as well and if I had to purchase a crib for this nursery, this is the EXACT one I would purchase.
Other Details & Sources
Rocker. This rocker is one we previously purchased a few years ago and is still going strong. If I had to choose another rocker. I might buy one that’s more up-to-date.
