I’m heading into my third delivery this coming week. So, packing a hospital bag is pretty familiar to me. With my first delivery, I packed WAY too much stuff. With my second, I only packed what I actually used and the simplicity of only taking what you need was really nice and helpful.
Charger
Snacks | Drinks
-I remember post-delivery never feeling more dehydrated in my life! Packing Gatorade, water, whatever you like to help replenish your body with electrolytes is really important.
Hair Brush | Hair Ties
Lanolin Nipple Cream
-most hospitals give you this. But, I never take the chance. You definitely need this if you plan to try and breastfeed.
Laneige Lip Mask
-Your lips get so chapped after birth and being in the hospital, this lip mask is gold! Or take whatever product of your choice to help with chapped lips post-delivery is a must-have.
Depends
– I have heard from so many women that depend’s are a lot better than the mesh underwear and big pads they give you to collect blood post-delivery. I did not pack these for the first two, simply due to not knowing this advice. I will definitely be packing these this time around for postpartum.
CLOTHING
Robe
Nursing Bra
Nursing Cami
Slippers
Sandles
Joggers
Loose T-shirts
Sweater
SHOWER ESSENTIALS
Sandals
Razor
-as much as I love my Billie razor. I always pack a razor that I can leave behind when I leave the hospital. Just makes it easier getting a nice disposable razor.
Shampoo | Conditioner
Body Wash
Face Wash
Deodorant
Toothbrush | Toothpaste
Lotion
Skincare
-I will link my current skincare regime here with all the details. I love skincare, so I tend to bring all my skincare items with me. If you want to keep it simple and do not care (which is perfectly normal), just take what you need.
MAKEUP
Essential items:
–foundation
–mascara
–concealer
-makeup application items
-makeup removal wipes/cleaning pads
At least those are essential to me! Haha. I will pack more items if I’m able to for sure. Oftentimes, babies come whenever they are ready. At least having these items ready will give you a good baseline.
